Meet the tooligans - About us

Jack Miles - Co Founder

I’m Jack, the other half of Tooligans. Before starting this business with my cousin Lewis, I worked in web and marketing, but I realised I wanted something more hands-on and rewarding. Now I get to roll up my sleeves, work outdoors, and see the difference we make for people every day.

I’m big on details and like to make sure things are done properly, whether that’s clearing a garden, building something new, or tackling the trickier jobs. Working with Lewis means there’s always good energy on site, and I think that makes a big difference for our customers too.

Lewis Kavanagh- Co Founder

I’m Lewis, one half of Tooligans. I’ve always been hands-on and enjoy getting stuck into all sorts of jobs, from garden tidy-ups to home improvements. For me, it’s not just about the work — it’s about making sure every job is done properly and leaving customers with a result they’re happy with.

I’m down to earth, easy to chat with, and I don’t mind putting in the hard graft, whether it’s in the pouring rain or blazing sun. Working alongside my cousin Jack, I take pride in what we do and the energy we bring to every project.

Our Recent projects

When we were called out to this property, the front garden wall had seen better days. Part of it had been damaged after a car accident, leaving a large hole and a weakened pillar that was starting to lean dangerously. The rest of the wall had flaking paint, loose mortar, and was generally in need of some serious attention.

FRONT GARDEN WALL REPAIR & REBUILD

After assessing the damage, we got to work on rebuilding the front wall. We began carefully dismantling the damaged section of the wall. Many of the old bricks had cracked or loosened from the impact, so they were removed and replaced with fresh, durable bricks to match the original style. The leaning pillar was straightened and securely tied back into the structure, giving the wall the strength and stability it needed. Every joint was repointed with new mortar, ensuring a solid and long-lasting result that blended perfectly with the existing brickwork.

FRESH COAT OF MASONRY PAINT

With the structure rebuilt, we prepared the wall for painting by scraping back the old, flaking paint and cleaning the surface thoroughly. Once dry, we applied two coats of high-quality masonry paint — the first with a roller for full coverage, and the second with a brush to reach the mortar joints and edges. The end result was a smooth, even finish that made the wall look brand new and fully protected from the weather.

Our customer wanted to transform her living room with a modern feature wall. The plan was to fit decorative slatted panels neatly behind and around the TV to create a clean, stylish look that would tie the space together.

PLANNING & PREPARATION

We began by measuring and marking out the wall, planning exactly where each panel would go. Once the layout was confirmed, we fitted the first panel and used it as our guide to ensure every row stayed perfectly level. The process was slow and steady — it needed to stick properly and line up precisely, especially around the TV area.

INSTALLATION & FINISH

Each panel was cut to size and fitted carefully around the TV, using accurate measurements to achieve a perfect fit. Once complete, the feature wall gave the room a bold, modern finish that completely changed the space. A time-consuming job, but one that delivered outstanding results — done properly, the Tooligans way
